Major contract to Amitec at Gjøa
The Bergen company Amitec AS is chosen as the provider of the PI System to Kongsberg Maritime for use on the Gjøa field. This confirms Amitec’s position as the leading IMS supplier to the Norwegian oil and gas market.
- The contract is for a 30,000 tag PI Server and its clients, as well as replication onshore-offshore. The value of the contract is in excess of NOK 2 million. The Kongsberg Maritime has chosen us as a supplier of IMS in its AIM system. We see that as a declaration of faith to us as a company and PI as a product, “said Chief Technology Officer Borre Heggernes.
Gjøa is operated by StatoilHydro in the development phase, but it is Gaz de France, who will operate the field when it starts production.
Amitec is a Norwegian provider of the information system PI from OSIsoft Inc. The system is an infrastructure for real-time and historical production data from oil fields.
Kongsberg Maritime delivers products and systems for positioning, navigation and automation to merchant vessels and offshore installations.
