StatoilHydro and Shell acquire new Amicall.Net licenses

Amitec AS has this year sold three new licenses for the warning system Amicall.Net.

One is an extension of two new sites at StatoilHydro, whereupon one is in Norway and another is in Denmark. At the same time Shell decided to upgrade and expand its existing Amicall.Net solution to Amicall Enterprise. This involves the sale of an additional server license, which gives Shell a more secure and redundant solution.

Tor Grindheim, Lead Developer of Amicall, emphasizes that there have been some improvements made by the software lately – most of this is related to the efficiency and stability of the program, as well as some changes in relation to the issue of SMS.

He also adds that there will be some new things to come, for instance there is a rewriting of the current communication piece of the system, which eventually will give our customers the ability to send messages through other media than they are accustomed to today. The idea is to for instance send voice messages over VoIP, and SMS via other carriers – to and from a wide range of countries in the world.

There is also work in progress to take advantage of ISDN cards from other vendors, and the possibility to use other technologies, giving the customer an entirely different opportunity to choose which media he wants to send voice messages over while scaling of the lines are much more flexible.

Operation Manager Frank Botnevik sees it as a positive feedback that our customers choose to expand cooperation in relation to Amicall.
